My Style Profile (with Fashionably Me)

It’s official…

Fall has arrived and, with it, the first week of school!

My first week of Dot Jewelry was such a hit that I’m ready to build on my back-to-school fashion and create a style profile that will take me though the rest of the school year.

So, I grabbed Fashionably Me, Klutz’s latest and greatest fill-it-yourself journal packed with style prompts, fabric swatches, and lots of space for imagination!

I filled it with patterns, prints, jewels and a all my style idols! Now, whenever I’m not sure what to wear, I just have to open this little black book and be inspired to be fashionably me!

Back-to-School Dot Jewelry

If you are a warm weather lover like me, as soon as the August long weekend hits, you are already dreading the end of summer. Ahhh, only four more weeks of fun in the sun, and then it’s time to head back to the halls of your educational institution and hit the books.

I know my panic is a little premature, but it certainly doesn’t help that all my favourite stores are already setting out their fall finest! It’s kind of like the day after Halloween, when the world suddenly explodes into Christmas... only then at least you have fun presents and family to look forward to. With back to school, not so much…

One thing that always gets me through my end-of-summer dread is planning my back-to-school wardrobe. Those first five outfits that really set the tone for a new me for the year head.
With this wonky weather we’re having, who knows what I'll be wearing when September rolls around. But one thing I can always count on is jewelry. So, I’m styling up some Dot Jewelry to beat my back-to-school blues and kickstart my first-week wardrobe!

And We're Back (with Fancy Friendship Bracelets and Glossy Bands)

It’s back-to-school and time for new beginnings... A new grade, new things to learn, and a new outlook on life! Time to wind down from the whims of summer and get into the swing of the new season.

And then there’s back to school fashion...

Oh, the anticipation of that first week of outfits, every day a new opportunity to paint the picture of your fashion self. Will you make a statement with some bold prints or linger in summer's neons and florals? Me, I'm just excited to finally break out the knits!

But there's nothing better for this crafty girl, than getting to wear one of her creations. As a part-time crafter, full-time wallflower, it's nice to be able to tell the world a bit about me without having to speak. So show everyone what makes you you this school year and rock some 100% Klutz accessories made just by you.

Squeeze and swirl, peel and stick these Glossy Bands for a one-of-a-kind accessory. Bright colours and groovy patterns add a pop of colour to your autumn neutrals. Switch these sticky bands from wrist to Ribbon Bangles and Headbands (and Hairstyles) for all your fall moods.

Braid and knot Fancy Friendship Bracelets into all sorts of shapes and patterns. Choose from five colours of cord and all sorts of beads and charms to really finish them off. So pretty and polished that no one will guess that you made it yourself. Be sure to make a bunch, because these beaded beauties are perfect for stacking!

Whatever you wore for your first week back-to-school, hope it was fashion fabulous and 100% you!

Summer Sisters (with Me and My Friends: The Book of Us)

Oh summer... parting is such sweet sorrow!

It’s almost time to say goodbye to still-light nights, eating popsicles and riding bikes. Pool parties, BBQs, and the odd too-hot-to-bear crafternoon indoors, I will miss you dearly during the glum winter days ahead. But most of all, I will miss my summer friends, those special people who come around when the sun is shining and make each school-free day extra fun!

My cousin Carolyne is my favourite summer friend. There is almost no one that I’ve known longer; we’ve been friends since birth (hers, of course, since by that time I was already a mature six months). We’ve done it all; playing in laundry baskets, staging stairwell productions of The Sound of Music, and indulging our embarrassing love of a certain dance movie franchise. But then she had to go and move away for school. So now our friend-fest is summer only… Sigh!

Before we said goodbye for yet another school year, she and I had a little fun with Me and My Friends! We gabbed and giggled about food, friends, and being carefree for one more week, as we filled out pop quizzes, compatibility tests, and more to commemorate our awesome friendship. So now, on those days when her absence is particularly stinging, I can look up all the reasons that she’s totally worth the wait!

Fall Fashion Fancy (with My Style Studio)

The weather seems to have teamed up with those dreaded commercials to bring the spirit of fall to these lazy, hazy, last days of summer. So I give in; I’m tired of fighting! Instead, I’m embracing the finer points of this time of transition… namely, back-to-school clothes!

I whipped up a crop of fall fashions to combat the chill with My Style Studio. This fully featured kit is packed with tons of supplies to help you style the season. Peel-and-stick, templates and tracing paper to start off, textured rubbing plates to create tons of cool prints, and the finest tip marker you’ve ever seen for the perfect finish.

Here are a few faves from my fall fashion line…

Tall boots, houndstooth, and button down vests;
Peter Pan collars, pencils skirts and summer maxis with a fall jacket.

And sure, my fall lineup is just fantasy, but with three weeks of summer dreamin’ to go, there's still time before I don my fall duds for good!
